Apprehend – Ìsinmi

Most times, our human nature (the flesh) wants us to find rest in things that are ephemeral. We want to make more money, buy the best car, house, get the best degrees, etc.

Our pursuit of these things is almost always based on the belief that they will complete us and give us rest and happiness.

In doing so, we focus on our strength and not on God’s promise of rest. Don’t get it wrong, money is good, living in a good house is awesome, driving a comfortable car is nice (Christ has, in fact, called us to excellence), but these things cannot give us rest or happiness.

If our desire for them is not guided by biblical principles, we will never be satisfied.

The question is, where are you finding rest? Our rest should be in Christ. He will teach us to understand timing according to his will. He will teach us to worry less and trust more. He will teach us to trust that His plans for us are good.

He will teach us that our time and breakthrough will come according to His timing. He will teach us patience. He will remind us that we are not of this world. He will give us rest (Ísinmi).
